Create vertebrate spine with wagon wheel pasta and pipe cleaners.

2nd Grade LS.2.2.3 Identify basic needs of most plants:
nutrients, water, light, air, temperature, space
ESS.8.2.3- Conduct investigations to determine which soil best supports bean plant growth
Seeds in a baggie taped to doors and windows going outside to the playgroud.
Each group sets up differenet experiment to test a different variable with plants:
1. Experiment to test different types of soil to grow plants.
2. Experiment to test amount of space needed for plants.
3. Experiment to test amount of water for plants.
4. Experiment to test amount of light for plants.
5. Experiment to test different temperatures with plants.

Finish labeling plant art and adding seeds and sand.

Plant flowers to grow. Measure and record observations daily.

Kindergarten LS.4.K.1- Recognize what it means for a species to be extinct

Digging for Dinossaurs

-Plaster of paris
-sand
-plastic dinosaurs
-popscicle sticks
1. mix 2 cups of plaster of paris and 5 cups of sand with 2 cups of water. Pour mixture into a cupcake pan lined with paper cups. Put a plastic dinosaur in each cup while plaster is still wet.
2. Explain to students that they are going to become paleontologists and with a popsicle stick they are going to excavate the dinosaurs. Work slowly and carefully to scrape away the mountain.
